SABAH TOURISM COMMENDS I-WORLD TRAVEL FOR PROMOTING COBT
KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Tourism Board recognises I-World Travel for its work in promoting community-based tourism (CoBT) in Sabah.
On Wednesday, Sabah Tourism Board Chairman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai signed a certificate acknowledging the company’s dedication to responsible tourism practices.
He then presented the certificate to I-World Travel chief executive officer Amity Wong during the company’s Chinese New Year open house celebration.
Joniston, who is also Assistant Tourism, Culture, and Environment Minister, commended I-World Travel for their proactive role in promoting CoBT experiences, particularly in Tenom and Kudat.
With increasing global interest in sustainable and community-driven travel, he said Sabah Tourism remains committed to supporting stakeholders who contribute to the growth of CoBT.
“By recognising industry players like I-World Travel, we hope to inspire more businesses to adopt sustainable tourism models that create meaningful impacts that benefit local communities,” he said.
Sabah Tourism Board deputy chief executive officer Tay Shu Lan was also present at the event.
