KOTA KINABALU, 24 NOV –To support Sabah’s business events (BE) industry growth and eco-system, Sabah Tourism Board is subsidising an advanced class for the previous participants of the Congress Certification Program (CCP) which was held virtually in February this year.
With the aim to upgrade certified Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs) in Sabah and to support them with the necessary knowledge, tools and requirements needed from bidding to pitching, budget preparation, digital marketing application, event technology and digital event strategies, the Congress Certification Program (CCP) 2.0 Advance Masterclass started its first week session on 16 November 2021.
Also held virtually, a total of 20 participants registered for this 4 week course, which is conducted every Tuesday and Thursday and will end on December 9.
One of the participants, Michel Mansuet of Place Borneo Sdn Bhd said,” CCP 2.0 is a practical course – both personally and professionally. It’s a great opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and broaden my skills in this industry. I am looking forward to implement all the inputs from the speakers to achieve my goals for Sabah which is – conducting a world class (or beyond) business events in near future! I am one step closer now after attending CCP 2.0.”

The second batch of the Congress Certification Program (CCP) 1.0 will be held December 7 – 10, 2021 is now open for registration, targeting new participants wishing to embark in business events, academician in the events management field as well as MICE venues, Destination Management Companies (DMCs), government agencies, lecturers and industry players. “We are glad to be able to work together again with MACEOS for CCP 2.0 and the second round of CCP 1.0, as this is part of our initiatives to support the development of human capital for the state’s business events industry”, said Noredah Othman, CEO of Sabah Tourism Board.
“This past year, Sabah Tourism Board provided financial assistance in attempts to sustain BE from physical events to then including Hybrid events; much due to the implemented SOPs. This week, together with the Sabah Tourist Guide Association, Sabah will be bididng for the 20th World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations Convention,” she adds.
